About Me
Linda M.J. Muller
Linda M.J. Muller is a poet known for concrete poetry, written and spoken word poetry about family, memory, and what it’s like to be a woman in the 21st century. With a passion for travel, genealogy, and the interplay of modern and historic elements, Linda’s work explores the boundaries of poetry and visuals using new and old technology.
Born in Iowa, Linda, now an Iowa Citian, founded the Iowa City Poetry Slam in 2018. Still going strong after the COVID hiatus, the slam is held once a month at Coffee Emporium. Over the years, Linda has actively participated in local poetry events and workshops, including serving as an advisory board member of Iowa City Poetry.
Her work has been published in Zoetic Press’ “Non-Binary Review,” Writers of the Depths Anthology, University of Iowa Writing Center’s “Voices,” Riza Press’ “Project Healthy Love,” and Lyrical Iowa.
Linda’s works in progress include a chapbook called “An American Wake” about her immigrant ancestors and a full-length illuminated ekphrastic poetry collection called “Songs of Innocence and of Experience,” a modern woman’s response to William Blake and U2 works of the same title.
